As the year comes to an end, we started thinking about the jobs that have been done over a busy 2014. One that comes up a lot is the Racing Steering Arms. A vintage race car owner had an idea to make his car perform better by slightly altering the geometry of the standard cast steering arms on the front wheels. The team here drew up the new design in CAD and 3d printed it to verify the concept. Then they were machined from solid 4340 high tensile steel on our newest milling centre. The complex shape and critical tolerances were a real challenge but our guys were up for it. We were pleased to hear that the hard work paid off with reduced times on the track.
